Susan Dinwiddie
Susan Dinwiddie has served as Assistant Conductor of the Athens Symphony since May of 1997. She has performed with the Athens Symphony playing clarinet and double bass since 1980.
Susan Dinwiddie received her Master of Music Education degree from the University of Georgia in 1979. She studied clarinet with Dr. Theodore Jahn, double bass with Mr. Eugene Eicher and conducting with Mr. Albert Ligotti.
Mrs. Dinwiddie is Nationally Certified by the Music Educators National Conference and was awarded membership in Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society in 1980. In 1985 she received the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Honor Teacher Finalist Award at the Middle School Level.
Dinwiddie conducted middle and high school bands in Walton County for 31 years prior to retirement in June 2006.
