Athens Symphony

Spring Concert Soloist:

JOSEPH CAUSEY




Except for four years spent in the U.S. Navy, Athens has been home for Joseph Causey.

He began studying the piano at the age of nine. His teachers included Jayne Montgomery and Ina Gerschefski. He attended Georgia's Governor's Honor Program in piano performance where he studied with Naegli von Bergen. Mr. Causey attended the University of Georgia where his teachers included Carlos Corma and Despy Karlas.

He has performed frequently in the Athens area, both as a soloist and as an accompanist. He also has been a soloist with the Athens Symphony in a performance of the Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saëns and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue.

Mr. Causey is President/CFO of Farm Electric, Inc. He has two sons, Cole and Taylor. Cole is also a member of the Athens Symphony, playing in the first violin section.
